Role of a Personal Assistant

Course Overview

This course is created for Personal Assistants, people who employ PAs and anyone with an interest in Personal Assistance. Within the module, there is guidance for PA Employers about how to use it to develop the working relationship with their PA.  This module encourages you to think about what conflict is, and how disagreements may come up within the PA Employer and Personal Assistant relationship. It encourages you to reflect on how you may approach conflict situations, and different ways you can choose to deal with a disagreement. 

Learning Outcomes: 

  • Understand what conflict is
  • Understand the circumstances in which disagreements may occur
  • Reflect on how you handle disagreements
  • Reflect on why you handle disagreements in the way that you do
  • Understand how disagreements may feel
  • Understand what assertiveness means, and how to apply assertiveness in the context of disagreements
  • Understand different strategies that may support you to resolve a disagreement
